Akrotiri...a little paradise down the road

A few plans canceled. Sick days at Casa Dionne. The girl and I find a sweet little beach just down the road in Akrotiri. Mama and daughter snorkel days. Bright schools of fish, sea glass and mai tais! Plus, octopus #3 presents itself, yet decides he's too shy to come out to meet us today...stays hidden in a tiny, tiny crevasse. We watch a Greek grandma munching on limpets right from the sea (ew) yet natural and giving of this beautiful ocean.

I lie there, trying to soak in the beauty and peace I feel on Zakynthos. Trying to bottle it up and take it back with me so I can sip on this feeling to fill me up.

Stop for Greek donuts one last time (add a little vanilla ice cream this time!) Enjoy the quaint cafe atop the hill the ocean calling us down below.

Zakynthos, fill me up.

Zakynthos...Villa Dione

A quick flight on EasyJet to Zakynthos. Rent a car. Our wonderful host, Stathis and his daughter, Aliki, guide us to our paradise. Greece is always a crazy place to drive. Hub is at the helm. Narrow roads. Quick curves. Scooter. Quads. Not a lot of rules on the road.

But then we arrive...and all worries float away at Villa Dione.

Villa view from the pool. (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14778063)

So comfy. So Greek. So many memories made here.

 Pool time all the time!
Of course, every morning started off with a little writing and a cup of tea.
My morning view from the balcony (where many yoga and Uno sessions did occur!)

Of course, a little Greek breakfast, too! (Cherry juice, feta, scrambled eggs with tomato and oregano and the sweetest green melon ever. )

Inhale the sweet Night Blooming Jasmine. Oleander pink and red. Olive orchards surround us. Vines sway. Jasmine blossoms bob in the pool. Bees rest and drink. Swallows circle. Cats meow. Swallowtails flutter all with the Ionian Sea in the distance. The sun sets late-- around 9:00pm and soon the bats dive toward the water. Silent and graceful. Our resident Scops owl calls out into the night. dyoo dyoo

Such peace here. Grace. Beauty. Fortune that we make ourselves.

I am grateful.

Which we ascribe to Heaven."--Shakespeare
